Her career began early with a job in a commercial and land real estate office and 20+ years later, she still loves a good map. Her roots in McKinney go back even further, including several generations of civically-minded family members and her children will carry this tradition into the future. Janet brings all this experience, passion and tradition to every project from buying and selling residential properties to developing master-planned communities.
Real Estate is a business of possibilities and that’s what she loves about it. Her early exposure inspired her life’s work. After college, she came right back to McKinney, the place she knew and loved, to continue in the practice of real estate – learning from the best, so she could be the best. While she began in commercial real estate and it continues to be her favorite, her repertoire of services organically expanded to land, farm and ranch properties, and eventually included residential clients. To her vast experience, Janet adds impressive credentials. She is a member of NAR and a Real Estate Broker with an Easements and Right of Way License. While only 22% of Texas REALTORS® are brokers, fewer earn the Easements and Right of Way License, even though easements and right of way have a significant impact on your title to property. Her CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation is the highest credential awarded to residential agents and is complemented by her Accredited Luxury Home Specialist (LHS) certification, Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) designation, Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR) and e-Pro certification. She also belongs to the North Texas Commercial Association of REALTORS® (NTCAR), the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), Collin County Association of REALTORS® (CCAR), Texas REALTORS®, the Residential Real Estate Council (RRC) and the Real Estate Business Institute (REBI).
These licenses, designations and affiliations are of great value, but coupled with her deep community involvement, the sum of Janet Clark-Sela’s contribution to the community of McKinney is greater than its parts. Like her father and grandfather, Janet has served on several boards and commissions in McKinney including consecutive terms, two as Chair, on the McKinney Community Block Granting Development Committee, which provides grants for housing and community development in low income areas, the Capital Improvement Advisory Commission, the Tree Preservation Board and the Planning and Zoning Commission. She’s lived in Eldorado since its inception and her contributions to the neighborhood include being President of the Eldorado Ladies Association and the Eldorado Homeowners Association. In addition, she is a member of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce and the Owl Forum of McKinney.
